Elite Level Coaching for the Next Generation of Competition Climbers

Mike Rougeux is a head coach, founder, and athletic developer dedicated to helping competitive climbers reach their highest potential. With over two decades at the forefront of the sport, he is one of the most respected figures in US climbing, empowering athletes to bridge the gap between raw talent and podium-level performance.
He leads Emergence Climbing, a coaching platform designed to help athletes transform their climbing by building the technical precision, psychological resilience, and intentional practice needed to thrive in competition.
He is also the Head Competition Coach at Bend Endurance Academy, where he refines the training systems that turn talented youth climbers into elite competitors using his proven blueprint of seasonal periodization—a system designed to consistently unlock an athlete's "emergence."
With a coaching career that extends to the world stage, Mike has served as a coach for the US Youth National Team at the IFSC Youth World Championships. Over the years, his systems have generated real results, helping develop multiple USA Climbing Youth National Champions and over 10 National Team members who turn to him for technical mastery, competitive strategy, and high-performance coaching.
